Your Lagos moving day checklist

A smoother move starts before the truck arrives. Use this checklist when preparing for a house move within Lagos.

One to two weeks before

List the furniture, appliances and boxes you plan to move. Share photos with your mover and flag fragile or oversized items. Confirm the pickup and destination, moving date, packing scope and written quote.

Confirm access at both buildings

Check estate entry rules, loading hours, parking, stairs and lift availability. Tell your mover about narrow doors, restricted roads and any loading permits your building requires.

Pack by room

Label each box with its destination room and mark fragile contents clearly. Keep heavier items in smaller boxes. Discuss suitable wrapping for mirrors, screens and furniture.

Keep essentials with you

Carry medication, documents, valuables, chargers, water and a change of clothes separately. Take photos of cable connections before disconnecting equipment.

Before the crew leaves

Walk through both properties, check the agreed inventory and inspect your belongings. Report any concern promptly using the arrangements agreed before the move.
